Animal Registry
Unique Animal IDs
Every animal gets a tag number (RFID or custom) and optional name. Tag and name are locked after entry — only the farm owner can change them. This prevents digital cattle rustling and maintains data integrity.
Genealogy & Family Tree
Record sire (father) and dam (mother) for every animal. Unknown parents are marked as "Unknown" rather than left blank. CowNojo builds a full genealogy tree that can be viewed on the dashboard.
Inbreeding Prevention
When a breeding event is recorded, CowNojo automatically checks the lineage of both animals back three generations (up to 2nd cousin). If a shared ancestor is found, an alert is fired and the owner is notified before the breeding proceeds.
Smart Entry Rules
If a calf is entered within 30 days of its birth date, CowNojo requires the father's information before saving — because you should know who the sire is. Animals entered more than 6 months after birth are assumed to have come from outside the herd, and unknown parents are set automatically.
Photo Records
Attach a photo to any animal's record. AI analyzes the image for body condition score and visual health flags — useful for insurance documentation, sale preparation, and routine health checks.

Alert Status System
Alerts are color-coded: green (informational), yellow (warning), red (urgent). Every alert can be resolved with a note — and the system records who resolved it and when. Owners get email and messaging notifications for every new alert.

Shareable Farm Links
Farm owners get a clean, human-readable farm ID (e.g., valley-farm-2026-05-08) and a link they can share with workers. Staff click the link, enter their name and phone number, and they're in. No app. No account creation.
Role-Based Permissions
Owners have full admin rights — they can edit locked fields, record dispositions, export data, and manage farm settings. Farmhands and veterinarians can log health events and field notes but cannot delete or alter core records.
Identity by Phone Number
Every user's identity is tied to their name and phone number — the same number they use to access via WhatsApp or Telegram. Every action they take in the system is permanently attributed to that identity.
Data Export
Farm owners can download a complete CSV report of their entire herd — including health logs, weight history, genealogy, and disposition records. Useful for government reporting, veterinary audits, insurance claims, and bank financing.

When an animal is processed, record the live weight on day of slaughter and the dressed weight after processing. This data is stored against the animal's full life record — useful for yield analysis and breed performance benchmarking.
